Today we are highlighting a recent call to action by leading scientists and scientific organizations around the globe aimed at drawing attention to the increasingly urgent climate catastrophe. The authors argue for the use of microbe-based solutions that could be promising in addressing the crisis, and yet are not used effectively at scale. Here we’ve included links to the press release and the journals which have jointly published the paper:

One demonstrates that flooding and ecological restoration of former cranberry farmland also restores wetland microbial communities and soil function. The second provides a new barcoding strategy for the phenotypic screening of mosquitos that can be applied towards malaria research.
